ICE and Consulate in support of Made in Italy at Coterie

The ICE Agency will extend its patronage to a curated selection of some of the best Italian designers of women’s clothing and accessories at the six-month Coterie fair, scheduled from 24 to 26 February 2026 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York.

In this edition, ICE will sponsor its largest group ever, with more than 81 selected Italian brands, as evidence of the commitment to supporting companies during the precious time available with U.S. retailers.

To emphasize the expansion of the ICE presence within the womenswear exhibition in Coterie, will be present the Consul General Giuseppe Pastorelli, installed in New York last month, in support of the initiatives of the government agency. Erica Di Giovancarlo, Trade Commissioner and Executive Director for the United States of the ICE Agency will also participate as a symbol of Italy’s dedication to strengthening the presence of Italian womenswear brands and accessories on the US market.

In this season, 16 of the more than 81 brands presented by ICE will participate for the first time in Coterie. New designers will be present in the categories ready-to-wear women, handbags, footwear and fashion jewelry, next to the most anticipated and established brands.

The ICE Agency is pleased to announce its continued growth within the Coterie exhibition, sponsoring more brands than ever to create a bridge between the excellence of womenswear ‘Made in Italy’ and the US market,” said Erica Di Giovancarlo, Trade Commissioner. “This growth demonstrates not only the constant demand for the quality and originality of Italian fashion and accessories, but also the value of interpersonal relationships and live experiences in creating lasting business partnerships.

At the same time, the company will welcome retailers with a free offer of drinks and winter tastings at the central lounge, this year set in a mountain chalet style, in homage to the contemporary Winter Olympics in Milan/Cortina.

In the busy calendar of the fair, ICE will also organize a photo shoot on site with all over 81 brands, made by fashion photographer Samantha Rapp. Publishing and catwalk models will wear complete look of designers, curated live by a stylist. Retailers can thus see the womenswear and Italian accessories as originally thought: worn by moving models, with silhouettes that come to life beyond exhibition stands.

Influencer and content creator, including Steve Gonzalez, will be present at the exhibition to produce video content dedicated to ICE activities. The fashion media partners of the organization will also participate, devoting editorial attention and “style session” experiential to the new brands involved.

The Italian Government strategically promotes the “Made in Italy” with the aim of expanding Italy’s share in international trade and strengthening its image in the world, also supporting initiatives aimed at attracting foreign investments.

In 2025 ICE sponsored not only the editions of February and September of Coterie, but also the editions of January and August of the Chicago Collective (salone menswear). In June he supported 25 brands “Made in Italy” at the Cabana exhibition in Miami dedicated to swimwear.

ICE has also renewed its exclusive EXTRAITASTYLE digital platform in 2025, equipping it with wholesale tools to facilitate American retailers in the online discovery of a wide range of Italian brands, with over 6,000 products available.

Also in 2025 he promoted “Italy on Madison”, a three-day immersive event held in May and dedicated to the worlds of design, beauty & fragrance, eyewear, fashion and food & wine. The initiative involved over 90 Italian brands and welcomed more than 600 guests at the historic ICE brownstone on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

The US market is strategically important for Italian fashion manufacturers (wear, footwear, leather goods, leathers and furs, fabrics and yarns, eyewear, cosmetics and jewelry), both for size and for the ability to influence consumer models globally. The United States represents the main extra-market EU for the “Made in Italy” in fashion.

The fashion sector is the third Italian manufacturing sector in size, after the mechanics and the automotive sector, with about 45,000 companies active in the territory and 393,000 employees.

The total value of US fashion and accessories imports from Italy rose by 2.47% in the first 11 months of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year, with a market share of 3.81%. However, Italy has lost positions among US global suppliers in the industry, from 7th place to end 2024 to 9th place in November 2025.

In the specific segment of women’s clothing and accessories there was a slight increase: the value of imports in the United States increased by about 2%, with a market share of 2.77%.
