Italpress TV, the streaming television service of the Italian news agency Italpress, is expanding its international reach with a new partnership in Australia. The service will now be available through Il Globo TV, the streaming platform connected to the Australian media group that also publishes Il Globo in Sydney and La Fiamma in Melbourne, two of the country’s best-known Italian-language newspapers.
For American readers, Italpress can be understood as one of Italy’s major private news agencies. Founded in Palermo and active across politics, business, sports, culture and international affairs, the agency produces news coverage, video reports and television formats for Italian media outlets and institutions. Its streaming service, Italpress TV, brings that content directly to viewers through a daily schedule that includes three news bulletins, around 50 video news reports and several thematic programs.
The agreement with Il Globo TV gives Italpress access to one of the most established Italian media ecosystems in Australia. Il Globo TV is a leading streaming service for Italian-language television in the country, offering live channels such as RAI, Mediaset Italia and LA7, along with on-demand programming and a seven-day catch-up archive. Its audience includes Italian citizens living abroad, Italian Australians and families who continue to follow Italian news, culture and public life from the other side of the world.
Gaspare Borsellino, director of Italpress, described the agreement as an important step in the agency’s international expansion. “As part of our internationalization program, this partnership with the Il Globo publishing group is of fundamental importance because it allows us to reach the Italian-Australian community living in Australia,” he said. “All of our daily programming, including three news bulletins, 50 video news reports and dozens of thematic formats, will now also be visible in Australia.”
Borsellino added that the partnership is part of a broader strategy to grow Italpress beyond Italy. “This is another step forward in the growth of Italpress outside Italy’s borders,” he said, adding that the agency expects to announce other partnerships in Italy and abroad.
Julius Larobina, CEO of Il Globo TV, said the arrival of Italpress strengthens the platform’s role as a home for Italian-language media outside Italy. “We are pleased to welcome Italpress to Il Globo TV,” he said. “As a media company committed to serving the Italian community around the world, hosting high-quality Italian-language publishers like Italpress strengthens our platform and gives our audience access to reliable and authoritative news and information.”
Larobina said the partnership also reflects Il Globo TV’s wider ambition: to build a comprehensive streaming home for Italian culture, news and media across the global Italian diaspora. “Il Globo TV exists to showcase the best of Italian media and culture for global Italians around the world,” he said. “Bringing Italpress into our ecosystem reinforces our position as a platform for Italian publishers and creators looking to expand their reach internationally.”
